Take this tutorial to learn how to place elements, like images and titles, in the slides. Later, you will learn some tricks on alignment, to have it everything perfectly organized.

Themes

1) Each presentation has a theme and some subjects are more elegant than others. The theme determines the slides style and the colors, and provides a coherent appearance. Here you will see three slides of title that have the same content but they use different subjects.

2) A theme has these elements, which are included in a same package:

Background design
Color combination
Fonts styles and types
Position markers location

3) The color combination affects the background colors, font colors, shapes filling colors, border colors, hyperlink colors, tables and charts.

4) The chosen theme affects the position markers location by changing some things of place.

5) All new presentations include the predetermined theme, denominated Office Theme. Now you will see how choose another different one.

6) In order to find and to apply a theme, clicks in the Design tab.

7) You will see the band of themes, in form of miniatures like which it sees here, in the group Themes.

Illustration 1: PowerPoint Design view.  Click here to view larger image.

8) In order to see other themes, click in the button More located in the right edge of the group.

Illustration 2: More themes view.  Click here to view larger image.

9) When pointing to the theme miniature you will obtain a preview in the slide.

10) Click in a miniature to apply that theme to all the slides. Also you have the option to only apply it to the selected slides.

11) A subject can be applied at any time of the presentation creation. Nevertheless, remember that the theme can modify the location of the position markers, reason why some will adjust better than others to your content.
